A photo a day – sunshine and shadow

Ah, to feel the warm sun is good.

I think there are many staple approaches in the photographer’s repertoire – for example mirrors, windows, silhouettes to name three and today I have used one of them: the silhouette made by my shadow.

Using a shadow for a selfie isn’t that easy when your a wheelchair user – much of the image is made up of a large amorphous dark blob. The key is the wheel and spokes and the inclusion of the knee position helps.

I think the photo is iconic in the sense that the profile is used so widely as a sign signifying disabled people. Does that make me an icon?
