A photo a day – a repeating theme

I know I have recently included a number of images of Spring flowers – but its just because it’s their colour and presence that draws me outside after so many winter months. Of course I go out in winter but the garden in bare, the weather often hostile and the light limited to a few hours per day. Then March arrives and it seems as though in a few days plants bud and flower, the sky gets bluer and the sun changes to offer more glimpses of warmth.

Yet its clearly not summer – the greens of that season are yet to come and the trees are still leafless – but warmth and colour have arrived.

It’s always good to see them especially when the frost doesn’t manage to catch the buds.
