A photo a day – the darkest hours

A bled last night. Luckily it wasn’t much and only lasted for five minutes or so. But I can’t tell you what it feels like hearing it dripping (I can’t feel due to paralysis) and then placing my hand on my body to check, and feeling warm blood running across my fingers and then seeing it. All sorts of things rush through my mind. However, it did stop quite quickly so was nowhere nearly as bad as the other night.

As I have mentioned in other posts, when things like this happen I try and distract myself. But trying to get to sleep can be difficult and now it’s the middle of the night and my mind is racing so I force myself to move away from thoughts of health and mortality, and think about ideas all sorts of things like projects and exploration for my MA, tomorrow’s lunch (sausages I think); the back garden, when should I get up?….in fact anything positive.

Today is going to be a good day – sausages, sun and thoughts of the future, and maybe a virtual wander over to Life magazine (link) to see the intrinsic connection of time to photography in some of their photos 🙂
