A photo a day – St George’s day

Today is a day of disputed values (well okay yesterday – but you know I publish my image on the following day as I have to create and execute the project). Some people are proud to be English, others fear that things like national identities hold society back from embracing humanity in all of its forms. Whatever your take on such issues is, I hope you will enjoy my photo as an interpretation on the subject from a disabled person’s point of view by the juxtaposition of an active wheelchair symbol against the traditional passive ones.

The base image is an old one and the symbol and flag were created in Paint, Elements and then adjusted in Lightroom once incorporated into the main photo.

Happy St George’s day. It’s not quite Banksy (link) but I think the juxtaposing of the symbols of England and disability work well together.
