A photo a day – my universe on a plate

 

I like this photo for aesthetic and connotative reasons: I like its strong gestalt but I also think it is representative of how I see myself. I’m open, plain and strong but I’m also old and stiff and crumbling…

The image put me in mind of Paul Strand’s Bowls (Link) but were his is an exercise in purity of form I think mine is much more a personal expression.

    Great composition and excellent light. Isn’t there a saying about bread being the staff of life! It might get a bit gnarled along the way but it’s still providing nourishment!
