A photo a day – a tyre

I’ve been thinking a little about intimate landscapes today and so this image looked apt.

Any closer and the image would become abstract, much further away and we’d lose the detail. It’s the absolute opposite technique to that of Mishka Henner’s Feedlots (link) but the effect is similar in terms of being able to be viewed as both an abstract image where its formalist properties are preeminent and an index.

    It looks a little like mud flats or marks left by the sole of a shoe. Quite forensic!
