It’s Saturday May 31st and so the first rehearsal of the Trooping of the Colour today. I say rehearsal but it has some big guns in it. This year I read that Major General Smyth-Osborne, CBE, Major General Commanding the Household Division and General Officer Commanding London District, will take the salute.
But my title refers to a more personal dress rehearsal. I retired in 2009 and have only worn a suit twice since then – to two funerals. Moreover the funerals were over two years ago and so I was worried I might have put on a little weight so needed to check that I will fit into a suit for my upcoming graduation ceremony.
I am very pleased to say that I did and so my weight probably hasn’t changed in the last six years.
