A photo a day – being a bit of an exhibitionist

Well two very positive things came through the post today: my graduation letter from UCA and the 100 flyers I’ve had printed for the upcoming exhibition at Bank Street Arts in Sheffield in July.

The graduation takes place at the Royal Festival Hall on June 25th. That’s good as the South Bank in accessible. I’m also pleased with my flyers. I plan to just leave these postcard sized cards at the exhibition venue for people to pick up and or refer to as they view the images. I’m not sure if this is the standard thing to do or not – its all about trying new things and learning. This applies to the photo as well. There are infinite ways of representing the two issues I wanted to. I began by photographing them square on, then in different shapes. But none appeared satisfactory save for this overhead shot. It evokes a sense of value – like the flyers were wads of pound notes.
