A photo a day – chemotherapy session 2

So mum went up for her second chemotherapy session at Guys Hospital today. They picked her up at 10.30 am and she got back at 9.30 pm. The reason for the long day is that because it’s Monday she has to have her blood taken and analysed before they can proceed with the chemotherapy just in case the bloods show up a problem.

I went up to visit from 1.30 to 3.15 and was going to show an image of mum receiving chemo. But as it had not begun by the time I left I decided to create another version of an earlier shot.

Rather than show the image straight like I did here (link) I want the image to convey a feeling of oppression and dominance and so used the above point of view. However the bright day and sky blue and white colours countered this evocation and so I experimented with different versions and came up with this below which is the photo of the day.

The monochrome treatment neutralises the happy evocation and conveys my feelings on the day – enveloped with the administration of cancer and dominated by a treatment that, as best will delay, and at worst will exacerbate.
