A photo a day – dad

So here is an image of my old dad just as I am in the car leaving for home. It was an unusual Friday lunch date as mum wasn’t present so we missed both her banter and cooking. Dad is coping but when you’ve been married 64 years being apart can be difficult so emotions burst through and then are quickly brought under control. We didn’t talk a great deal about mum as there is nothing much to say. He talked more about being on the beat in the 1950s and we spent some more time on cigarette cards and army uniforms. The whole lunchtime made me think of just how long “long” is and when I got home I looked through some of his older photos and this one of dad in Malaya seemed to strike a chord with the one I shot today. Would you agree?
