A photo a day – Summer Bank Holiday

Today is the last summer Bank Holiday where most people have a day off from work. Of course, this means that is usually rains ….

But Karen and I didn’t let the rain, traffic jams or anything else, put us off and so we drove to Whitstable on the North Kent coast. The day was very traditional: we left in overcast raining conditions and they continued to accompany us all day. I parked at the sea front with, as you can see, a great view of the grey Thames Estuary/North Sea. It was too windy, cold and wet to get out so we scoffed fish and chips in the car and drive home through the traffic jams with the interior stinking of lunch.

Yet, for all that I enjoyed the day and this photo represents it quite well. One more week of summer left…..
