When I had to work for money we had all sorts of jargon and sayings. One came to mind when the MA Fine Arts Digital cohort met via Skype messenger today for the very first time. This was Bruce Tuckman’s 1965 Forming, Storming, Norming and Performing team-development model (link).
I am sure we are in the very early Forming stages and still working though some administrative issues before the group can begin to perform. It’s a bit like Maslow’s Hygiene factors (link) needing to be addressed before people can get on with other things. I’ve got to learn more about Skype and how to work with it within groups.
