A photo a day – bird watching

I like this for its purity.

But I prefer this for its subject matter, framing and cinematic style. To capture it was rather like preparing to photo a sports event or bird watching. I set my camera to burst mode with a speed priority at 1/100th and framed at around 250mm and waited for Karen to come back from the shops.

Thanks Rhiannon. The first image is just a redacted version of the poppy display at the Tower of London. My thoughts were about trying to remove the spectacle of the thing as a tourist attracted and make it much more singular. I don’t know of Jacqueline Donachie’s work – so will look it up.

      All the best
