Halloween wasn’t really an English celebration when I was a child, Guy Fawkes Night was the focus of activity and interest around now until November 5th. However nowadays the shops and TV adverts really seem to build it up as an event. In fact I hadn’t even thought of Halloween until I saw a shop front filled with the subject as I went for my Sunday paper.

Yesterday’s photo of the day made the news and was trending on twitter – see here. I’ve only ever made 8 tweets but the mechanism got me thinking as its so contemporary and focussed on the now.
I was pleased that the image used but not so pleased that the News Shopper didn’t acknowledge me as the photographer – naughty.
