A photo a day – saying goodnight

I’ve watched my new ornamental plumb tree regularly since it was planted on March  13th – see it here. Maybe the date sticks in my mind because its the date  of my brother’s death in 2012. I like the tree. I didn’t take much notice of it in the summer as I was fully preoccupied with mum’s demise, but when the autumn came I enjoyed watching the leaves turn from deep red to red/golden brown.

But for the past week or so I have been watching a two leaves stubbornly refuse to depart and let the tree sleep, and they are the subject of today’s photo as it is national tree week (see here). I feel like I am waiting to say goodnight to the little tree for the winter.
