The work I carried out here on Tuesday and Wednesday fired me up to create another image in the same vein – that is by juxtaposing symbolism against a similar image without any symbolism (rather than alternative symbols such as active disability symbols).
I think the approach works quite well by creating meaning between rather than within the photos, but I am not sure the image is interesting enough in of itself.
Looking back across the images I have created for this project suggests that I am pretty much at the end of the road with it as I can’t see how continuing to explore signs will offer much more in evoking a sense of the social nature of disability. Anyway, we will see.
