The earliest appointment my GP can get with the choose and book service in April 1, 2016.
Yet on payment of £200 to another hospital I can see the cardiologist next Monday at 6.20 pm.
So much for a free National Health Service…..

So what will you do? The NHS may not be perfect but it is wonderful. As with everything in life, if you have money you get what you want, when you want it. It doesn’t matter that time and resources are taken from the system because whoever pockets the money will be happy. (whilst everyone else if pushed further back in the line)The question I have is whether the money goes back to the NHS or into a doctor’s pocket or worse a ‘health/ insurance’ co. I think it is such a terrible thing to do to people. Health is obviously an issue that needs urgent resolve so a patient can’t be blamed for speeding the process along. I just have a real problem with money being made out of people’s agonies. The system in the US is so disgusting and it wins me to see the Brits surreptitiously joining in with the idea that only the people with money count.

I will pay of course – otherwise I will have run out of blood by April 1! 🙂 The omney goes tot he Doctor – not the NHS with a slice going to the private hospital where the consultation takes place. The hopefully that cardiologist will advise the anesthetist that I am okay to be operated on. (The ironic thing is that I will not have any form of anesthetic as I can’t feel. But the anesthetist always acts as a kind of policeman in these situations.
