Todays tutorial focused on presentation, production values, contexts and perfection.
Jonathan and I discussed my current work, the book, the curation of it and its conceptual organisation and then went on to discuss the final exhibition.
- Current work: we discussed the move to physical work in the context of my personalised symbol painting, and some of the differences between that and digital. I will continue experimenting with creating physical pieces.
- The book: we discussed the book in terms of marketing and the exhibition. He and I both agreed that trying to produce a exhibition based on the whole body of work would be unrealistic and that I should maybe take a headline or aspect and present that.
- The exhibition: Jonathan confirmed that all the MA course are holding the exhibition at Wilson Road. This was important as otherwise people may have not bothered to go to two venues if the exhibition had been split across two sites.
The discussion was cut short by a call I had to take about my dad (who is in hospital) but I think we covered everything I wanted to.
I can feel myself getting close to the exhibition: it’s a strange feeling!
That all sounds very business-like and positive. I hope I’ll be able to get to the Exhibition.
