A photo a day: happiness fully restored – The Nearest Faraway Place project

I’m a participant in a little collaborative project a few OCA students initiated back in July last year (2013). This project is about sharing between OCA student where we all contributes one 6 x 4 print , along with a little statement and it creates a concertina book.

Well the book arrived in its protective tin today and I am the twentieth student to contribute. I have just spent the last half hour looking at the images and reading the statements and this generated lots of feelings: the images and statements made me think about who my collaborators were, their lives and how they lived; and the physicality of the book made me really think about originality and replication as I don’t think anything could have the aura of this original. It’s just so much more powerful in the real and made me feel a strong tangible connection with my colleagues.

The whole thing has really lifted my spirit. I won’t do anything with it today other than think about the image/message. So today image is all about the book. Here it is.
